We are looking for a PRODUCTION AND MAINTENANCE STAFF
Qatargas Operating Company has exciting opportunities available for qualified
professionals to join our company in the development of the vast North Field in Qatar.
Qatargas currently has under development over $20 billion worth of major projects,
including the construction of our new Liquefied Natural Gas trains for the production and
export of LNG to every corner of the globe.
♦ OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT
• UTILITIES
SHIFT SUPERVISORS
Graduate/ Diploma holder with a minimum 10 years experience in utilities plant process
with at least 4 years in a supervisory role. Reports directly to the Head of Process.
Understands company health, safety and environmental policy & how its related to his job
also able for comprehensive report writing.
PANEL OPERATOR
Graduate/ Diploma with min 6 years experience in Utilities as panel will familiar with high
pressure steam. Power generation (STS, GTS), waste water treatment, flare system N2 and
Air system.
SENIOR OPERATOR
Diploma/ NCTVT with a formal plant training and able to lead his team on routine day to
day process activities in Utilities plant familiar with high pressure steam. Power generation
(STS, GTS), waste water treatment, flare system N2 and Air system. Minimum 10 years
Experience and out of which at least 4 years as Senior Operator.
ROVER OPERATOR
Diploma/ NCTVT with a formal plant training with minimum 5 years experience in utilities
plant familiar with high pressure steam. Power generation (STS, GTS), waste water
treatment, flare system N2 and Air system in the same position. Thorough knowledge of
Process is must.
• INLET RECEIVING
SHIFT SUPERVISORS
Graduate/ Diploma holder with a minimum 10 years experience in inlet receiving plant
process with at least 4 years in a supervisory role. Reports directly to the Head of Process.
Understands company health, safety and environmental policy & how its related to his job
also able for comprehensive report writing.
PANEL OPERATOR
Graduate/ Diploma with min 6 years experience in receiving panel will familiar with slug
catcher, Condensate stabilizer, piping operation, LPG treating and sour water injection
SENIOR OPERATOR
Diploma/ NCTVT with a formal plant training and able to lead his team on routine day to
day process activities in receiving plant will familiar with slug catcher, Condensate
stabilizer, piping operation, LPG treating and sour water injection. Minimum 10 years
Experience and out of which at least 4 years as Senior Operator.
• PROCESS
SHIFT SUPERVISORS
Graduate/ Diploma holder with a minimum 8 years experience in Oil, Gas, and LNG plant
process with at least 4 years in a supervisory role. Reports directly to the Head of Process.
Understands company health, safety and environmental policy & how its related to his job
also able for comprehensive report writing.
PANEL OPERATOR
Graduate/ Diploma with min 6 years experience in LNG/ LPG Refinery or Gas Treating
plant with through knowledge of process.
SENIOR OPERATORS
Diploma/ NCTVT with a formal plant training and able to lead his team on routine day to
day process activities in LNG/ LPG Refinery or Gas Treating plant. Minimum 10 years
Experience and out of which at lease 4 years as Senior Operator.
ROVER OPERATORS
Diploma/ NCTVT with a formal plant training with minimum 5 years experience in LNG
Plant, LPG Refinery or Gas Treating plant in the same position. Thorough knowledge of
Process is must.
• SULFUR RECOVERY UNITS
SHIFT SUPERVISORS
Must have a minimum of 8 years experience within sulfur recovery plants. Familiar with
CLAUS, superclaus and TGT processes. This position is a senior supervisory level and you
will be responsible for a team of operators reporting directly to Head of operation.
PANEL OPERATORS
Must have 5 years minimum experience in operating panel for Sulfur recovery units in
LNG, LPG, Refinery or Gas treating plants Familiar with CLAUS, superclaus and TGT
processes.
SENIOR OPERATORS
Must have 5 years minimum experience in operating Sulfur recovery units in LNG, LPG,
Refinery or Gas treating plants. Familiar with CLAUS, superclaus and TGT processes
ROVER OPERATORS
Must have 5 years minimum experience in operating of Sulfur recovery units in LNG, LPG,
Refinery or Gas treating plants. Familiar with CLAUS, superclaus and TGT processes.
• CSP
SENIOR OPERATOR/ ROVER OPERATOR
Must have minimum 5 years of liquid and solid sulfur handling, granulation and ship
loading experience, able to handle utility packages like electric boilers, boiler feed water
and instrument air.
• CLP
SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Must have min. 10 years of LNG storage and ship loading experience, able to lead a team
of 5, reporting to head of section.
PANEL OPERATOR
Must have min. 8 years of LNG storage and ship loading experience, report writing, and
reporting to shift supervisor.
SENIOR OPERATOR/ ROVER OPERATOR
Must have min. 5 years of LNG storage and ship loading experience, familiar with loading
arms connection.
• LIQUID BERTH
SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Must have 10 years of HC storage and ship loading experience, knowledge of floating and
conical roof tanks behavior while filling emptying, ship loading safety and documentation
procedures, reporting to section head.
PANEL OPERATOR
Must have min. 8 years of HC storage and ship loading experience, floating and conical
roof tanks behavior while filling and emptying, loading arms connecting/ disconnecting,
ship loading safety awareness, reporting to loading supervisor.
SENIOR OPERATOR/ ROVER OPERATOR
Must have 5 years of HC storage and ship loading experience with floating and conical
roof tanks, able to connect/ disconnect ship loading arms, reporting to panel operator.
• REFINERY
SHIFT SUPERVISOR
Candidate should have minimum 9 years refinery expertise, experience in fractionation,
Hydrogen, Naphtha stabilization, Naphtha Hydro-treating and Kerosene hydro-treating
units, and minimum 2 years in charge as shift supervisor.
PANEL OPERATOR
Candidate should have minimum 7 years refinery expertise, experience in fractionation
and hydro-treating units, and minimum 2 years in charge as panel operator.
SENIOR OPERATOR
Candidate should have minimum 5 years expertise, and minimum two years in charge as
Senior Operator.
ROVER OPERATOR
Candidate should have minimum 3 years expertise in any of the refinery process units,
such as fractionation unit, any of hydro-treating units, hydrogen unit or naphtha
stabilization and LPG units.
• TANK FARM
PANEL OPERATOR
Able to understand the operating philosophy, principles and process parameters and
control complex control systems. He should know the cost & effect of PESD, ESD and F&G
systems. Able to lead the shift crew with clear instruction and follow-up outside operators
action from DCS. Experience with floating roof tanks, conical roof tanks operations and
tanks/ product behaviors with climatic changes. Able to record handling and report
writing.
SENIOR OPERATOR
Able to co-ordinate with panel operator for the day to day operating activities. Identify
potential rotating equipment failure before occurrence (bearing noise, vibration, rubbing
noise, cavitations). Experience with floating roof tanks, conical roof tanks operations and
tanks/ product behaviors with climatic changes. Able to produce handover report, and
records handling.
ROVER OPERATOR
Follows-up instruction from senior or panel operators. Able to understand the safe
operating principles of rotating and process equipment. Able to operate with minimum
supervision in terms of equipment line up for the intended operations. Experience with
floating roof tanks, conical roof tanks operations and tanks/ product behaviors with
climatic changes. Able to read P&ID/ PFD's
• OFFSHORE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (ONSHORE BASED POSITIONS)
MAINTENANCE ENGINEER-ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENT (Offshore)
Provides support for the Mechanical, Electrical & Instrument maintenance of field
equipment. Contributes to the overall planning & execution of major shutdowns. Provide
technical advice to Mechanical, Electrical & Instrument Supervisors in consultation with the
On-shore Electrical and Instrument Engineers on a regular basis and leads/ participate in
troubleshooting complex and recurring equipment faults. Initiates service requests for all
contract services and administration of the contracts. Act as an onshore focal point for all
matters related to Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation repair, modifications, material,
Co-ordinate actions with Engineering, SE&Q, Supply, Inspection, other maintenance
disciplines and outside agencies. Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical or
Instrumentation Engineering together with 8 years maintenance experience in the oil and
gas or similar industry and offshore maintenance is desirable. Good written and spoken
English.
MAINTENANCE PLANNER (Offshore)
Coordinates and participates in maintenance work planning for all regular and scheduled
preventive maintenance, defect repair and modification activities of offshore facilities.
Programs the Preventive Maintenance Plan for offshore facilities in all respective sections
of mechanical, electrical or instrumentation. Processes daily work orders issued for
various maintenance sections. Updates equipment histories with details of work carried
out, equipment condition, component replacement as advised or noted after completion of
the work. Maintain repairs and faults failures records. Completion of Secondary (12 years)
education, followed by finalized training in an engineering discipline equivalent to 2 years
full time. 8 years maintenance experience in an oil or gas process plant, including site
activities and planning experience. Good written and spoken English. Computer literacy,
including use of maintenance planning, and management systems.
PANEL OPERATOR (Offshore)
Position incumbent will have frontline responsibility for monitoring and controlling
operations of remote offshore wellheads through the Distributed Control System located in
the control room. He'll work on a shift basis at the onshore plant control room and will be
required to have deep technical knowledge of the equipment, an analytical approach and
the ability to identify and act on real and potential problems. Incumbent will participate
during the phases of commissioning, start-up and operations of these remote wellheads
and thus would be expected to travel to construction sites and offshore fields. High School
graduate and successful completion of the National Certificate (NC). A minimum of 8 years
operator experience in the oil and gas sector, preferably offshore, exclusive of any study
time taken to upgrade qualifications.
♦ MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT
MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Plans and supervises the maintenance, repair and installation of a wide range of rotating
and static equipment in the Utilities, Inlet Receiving Facilities, Storage and Loading areas.
Provides supervision and technical direction over preventive, predictive and breakdown
maintenance requirements. Participates in the preparation of modifications/ projects and
shutdown requirements. BSc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 8 years
maintenance experience in an oil or gas processing plant including at least 5 years
supervisory experience. Good written and spoken English.
SENIOR ANALYZER TECHNICIAN
Completion of secondary education (12 years) followed by 3 years formal trade training on
instrument/ analyzer/ control system engineering crafts plus a minimum of 5 years direct
instrument and trouble shooting experiences on analyzers in the oil and gas sector or
chemical process industries.
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Plans and supervises the maintenance, repair, installation, overhaul, testing and calibration
of a wide range of electrical equipment, power distribution systems and other equipment
in the offsites areas. Provides supervision and technical direction over preventative,
predictive and breakdown maintenance requirements. Participates in the preparation of
modifications/projects and shutdown requirements. BSc. in Electrical Engineering or
equivalent together with 8 years maintenance experience in an oil or gas processing plant
including at least 5 years supervisory experience. Good written and spoken English.
SENIOR INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN
Completion of secondary education (12 years) followed by 3 years formal Trade Training in
Instrument or Control Systems Engineering Crafts plus a minimum of 5 years direct
Instrument and Trouble shooting maintenance experience in the Oil and Gas sector or
Chemical Process Industries.
CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Supervises, plans, provides technical support and is responsible for the safe operation and
functionality of Integrated Control Systems (ICS) deployed at the Qatargas Onshore and
Offshore facilities. Actively participates in the Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site
Acceptance Test (SAT) of new control systems, to ensure that the new technology is
transferred and accepted into Qatargas. Bachelors degree in Instrumentation or Control
Systems, Computer Sciences or Software Engineering together with 6 years experience in
instrumentation design, maintenance or ideally within an oil or gas processing
environment, together with knowledge and/or experience in Foxboro IA system, PLC, TMR
and ESD systems. Good written and spoken English.
INSTRUMENT ENGINEER
Supervises, plans and coordinates activities for the maintenance, safe operation and
functionality of all Instruments, regulatory control, process safety and emergency
shutdown systems associated with process operations in all Plant areas. Provides
supervision and technical direction over predictive and breakdown maintenance. BSc. in
Instrument or Control System Engineering or equivalent together with 8 years
maintenance experience in a modern oil or gas processing plant which uses
DCS/TMR/PLC technology, including at least 5 years supervisory experience. Very good
written and spoken English.
SENIOR ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN
Completion of secondary education (12 years) followed by 3 years formal Trade Training in
Electrical Engineering craft plus a minimum of 5 years of direct Electrical Maintenance and
trouble shooting experience in the Oil and Gas sector or Chemical Process industries.
Knowledge of PLCs power generation and control equipment.
